Painting
& Remodeling

We've painted homes around Canandaigua since 2000, inside and out. Now we remodel kitchens, bathrooms and basements too, a lot of them in older houses.

Painting

Painting is where Albert started in 2000, and it's still most of our work. We paint single rooms and whole houses, and we'll help you pick colors.

Painter seen from behind rolls a high-gloss ceiling with a long pole in a deep green room facing plastic-masked windows.

A whole room in one deep green.

We rolled the ceiling in high gloss with the windows masked off.

Powder room with dark navy wainscoting, crown and ceiling, leaf and leopard wallpaper, a ring chandelier and a white vanity

A color-drenched powder room.

The wainscoting, trim, door, crown and ceiling are all one deep navy, with wallpaper on the walls above.

Log cabin with warm amber finished logs, green metal roof and covered entry porch on a grassy wooded lot

Finishing a log home.

We took this log home from raw wood to an even amber finish, brushed on by hand.

Remodeling

For years, our painting clients asked who they should call for a bathroom or a kitchen. Now they call us. We take a room from demolition to the final coat of paint, so you aren't hiring a separate painter at the end.

Kitchen with wood-tone shaker cabinets, black island with a dark speckled top and three stools, and a mosaic tile backsplash

A full kitchen remodel.

We took this kitchen from demolition through cabinets, electrical, plumbing and paint, with a new island that faces the family room.

Staircase with stained oak treads, charcoal risers and stringer, black square balusters and oak handrail by exposed brick

New oak stair treads.

The stairs now have stained oak treads, an oak rail and black balusters beside the exposed brick.

Bathroom with a white vanity and dark gray top, a white toilet, beadboard wainscot, painted paneling and a pine ceiling

A second bathroom for an 1800s house.

We built it in space the house wasn't using. It has beadboard wainscoting and a pine plank ceiling.

Before & after

Pick a job to see how it looked before and after our work.

Choose a project
After: Finished basement with white shaker wet bar, butcher-block counter, floating shelves, beverage fridge, navy sofa and rug
Before: Basement corner with white painted walls, electrical boxes where cabinets will go, a new interior door and bare concrete

Basement

This walkout basement, shown here mid-job, became a family room with a wet bar, a black-painted open ceiling, new flooring and trim.

Before: Red corrugated metal wall with four white overhead doors and a stained service door beside an asphalt lot, overcast sky.
After: Row of white overhead doors along a white corrugated metal wall, fresh asphalt in front, trees and blue sky at left.

Fire hall

The Macedon Center Volunteer Fire Department's hall went from weathered red to white. We prepped the siding, made repairs and caulked before we sprayed it.

Before: Dated kitchen with knotty pine upper and lower cabinets in an L shape, a window over the sink and a worn, damaged wood floor
After: Kitchen with gray shaker-style cabinets, stone-look counters, black faucet under a double window, plank floor, ceiling light

Kitchen

This kitchen was part of a whole-house remodel. We opened up walls, took out the knotty pine kitchen, and put in new cabinets, flooring and paint.

Before: Empty room with beige walls, white trim and crown, tall windows, bare plywood floor, and a stair railing wrapped in plastic.
After: Room with deep charcoal walls, white crown and baseboards, a tall window, and paint supplies on a plywood floor.

Front room

We repainted this beige front room a deep charcoal and kept the crown molding white.

We cover the floors before we open a can.

Floors get covered, furniture gets wrapped, and windows, trim and fixtures are masked before anything is rolled or sprayed.

When the owners of a new Bluff Point lake house wanted board ceilings after they'd started moving in, we sealed every surface and ran fans with filters while we sprayed, so the spray didn't spread through the house.

The odd jobs.

Albert loves the creative, unusual jobs. If you've been told something can't be done, call us.

A fire-retardant ceiling in Rushville.

A restaurant with an apartment upstairs needed its ceiling sprayed with a fire-retardant coating to meet code. We sealed off the dining room and sprayed it overhead.

Albert redesigned two old cabinets, joined them into a single three-door piece and painted it charcoal.

Born and raised in Canandaigua.

Albert Ayers went to Canandaigua Academy and started painting houses here in 2000. He's worked for homeowners and for local builders ever since, and a lot of his clients keep calling him back.

Remodeling took off in 2025, and today it's a full-time crew of painters and carpenters. Albert is still on the jobs.

More about Albert

We're hiring painters and carpenters.

The jobs are steady and full-time, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off and sick time. We're looking for people who show up, take pride in clean work, and know prep matters as much as the finish coat.
